Now you must be in search of how to delete old Facebook posts in bulk.

You will get so much bored and tired if you delete all the old posts one by one. So for the solution, I am showing you the best alternatives to delete a lot of Facebook posts at a time.

Delete Multiple Facebook Posts In Bulk (Within FB)

There's also a feature in  Facebook that allows you to delete multiple posts at a time. Let me show you how.

Delete, hide or untag Facebook posts in bulk at a time using the website (PC/Mac)

  1. Open Facebook's official site Facebook on any web browser like Chrome.
  2. Log in to your profile if you haven't already.
  3. Click on your name to go to your profile just at the right of the search bar.
  4. Click on the manage posts button just below the new post to create a section. You will see a reverse chronological order of your posts.
  5. Click on filter on the left and filter by "Anyone, others, and you".
  6. Use the filters on the left to filter posts by “Anyone”, “You”, or “Others”. You can also filter tagged posts if you want.
  7. Tick mark on every post you want to delete or hide just in the checkbox at the top right corner of every single post. (You can only select 50 posts at a time).
  8. After selection click on next.
  9. Now you have the choice to "delete post", " hide post" or "remove tags".
  10. After that click on done and now your process for deleting old posts on Facebook on PC/Mac is finished.

Delete, hide or untag Facebook posts in bulk at a time using Facebook App (Android/iOS)

  1. Open the Facebook App and log in with your account.
  2. Click on the Menu or the three bars either on the top or bottom right corner.
  3. Click on your profile and select manage posts just below post composer or click on the setting icon at the top right corner of the post creator.
  4. Your posts might appear in reverse order but if not then click on filters and put the date from where you want to delete.
  5. Now filter the post according to your preferences by date, posted by, and tagged posts.
  6. Click on the circular checkbox on the posts you want to delete, hide or untag.
  7. After selection, click on one of the three options( untag, hide or delete) with relevant icons.
  8. At last, click on next and your process is accomplished.

Note

For some of the posts, the delete post option may not work properly.

This is because you applied some privacy settings or these are the pictures that you didn't upload.

If this creates a problem then uncheck the posts that aren't yours and then delete bulk posts.

You can also delete, hide or untag posts on Facebook individually by going to your profile later.

You just have to click on the three dots type icon adjacent to the corresponding post.

Alternate Method to Delete Multiple Fb Posts

The method using Facebook's official website or App is good but when you have to delete hundreds of posts at a time when that process is difficult and boring.

As, you have to scroll manually around all of the combinations of different posts, selecting them and deleting them after a big search.

Also, the above-mentioned process is one by one and not so good for people having a busy schedule with only 50 bulk posts delete options.

The process within Facebook is not ideal for every circumstance.

So I am telling you about a third-party extension on Google Web Store that will help you in the situation.

Social Book Post Manager

An extension known as Social Book Post Manager deletes automatically more than 100 Facebook posts.

It consists of its filters that you can use for deleting a group of similar posts according to your choice.

It lets you search for posts by date and time, based on the presence or absence of specific keywords.

You can also review the items before deletion. You can also change the speed of automation from 0.25x to 16x.
Depending on the type of post, Social Book Post Manager allows you to “Delete posts”, “Unlike”, “Hide/Unhide”,  "Change Privacy" or “Backup posts" according to the criteria.

Now let me show you how to bulk delete your Facebook post history using Social Book Post Manager.

  1. Install Social Book Post Manager extension in Chrome Web Store.
  2. After extension installation, go to Facebook.com and log in with your account.
  3. Click on your profile name on the right side of the search bar.
  4. Now select Activity Log in the bottom right corner of your cover image.
  5. Now click on the filter and filter our posts according to your preferences.
  6. Now click on the Social Book Post Manager's extension from the top right corner of Google Chrome to launch it.
  7. Now choose the filters of the extension according to your preferences. (If you want to delete all, choose “Select A in for both Year and Month.
  8. Also, click on Pre scene so that you can review the posts before deleting, hiding, or unliking.
  9. Choose automation speed between 0.25x to 16x.
  10. Finally, click on any in the option you want to perform actions on the selected posts according to the given criteria.
  11. The extension will directly scan and mark your Facebook Activity log for posts matching the criteria you mentioned.
  12. After it, the extension will delete all of the marked posts.
  13. Tadah! Now you have your fresh new profile with room for new posts.

Note

  • Depending on how many posts, the extension may run many times.
  • If the extension is not working on the first attempt, delete all the extensions, clear cache and browsing history, and then install it.
  • If the extension doesn't delete some of the pictures then try to lower the speed.
  • During the process, do not click or scroll anywhere. It may cause some problems in the whole process.
  • If you want to cancel the process, just close the Facebook tab from Google.
